When I did a top end on my old rmz, I was mostly worried about getting the timing wrong and smacking a valve but it was super easy and I got it back together and running in one go.

Had a friend show me how to change my fork oil (no seals/bushings)... forks are much more simple than I thought, even after watching videos.

On A KLR, I WENT AHEAD and did a shim or valve adj, 106 inch pounds for cam caps, one thing I would say is TRIPLE CHECK A) TRQ numbers, double or rather triple check if it's inch pound, or FT lbs. in my case everything was in INCH POUND 106 inch lbs, for cam caps, and get a set of feeler gauges that go at least five sizes either thinner or thicker so you can get the out of spec reading, mine was down to only .05mm when spec called for .15mm so in that case simple math, in order to get to spec, was to remove shim read size, it was a 2.85 so being I needed .15mm I had .05 that means 2.85 needed to be 2.75 that would give the needed .10mm + .measured .05 mm, would make it the spec.15 The manual said to step up the TRQ in a pattern so I went 30 inch pounds on all four caps then stepped up another 30 and then another 30 (90 so far ) Then the last was to 106 inch lbs of TRQ. WORKED out perfect

BAG AND LABEL YOUR BOLTS. this is the single most important step I’ve found when digging into something regardless of what it is. Make your labels as specific as possible.

Did a complete engine rebuild myself on my 2005 CRF450R. Though intimidating there is plenty of reference materials out there that can help along with your service manual. Take your time and use the material for reference. It is very rewarding when it’s all back together and runs.

Carb cleaning & rebuilding. I was scared to death of cleaning & rebuilding a carb but I've since done about 15 of them, all different styles. They all turned out great. Take your time & stay organized, you'll be fine.

Unfortunately I am completely mechanically challenged, I can do oil changes and air filter cleaning but that’s it, my two month old yz450f will be back at the dealer for all other maintenance. Enjoy all your videos Chase, keep them coming.

I agree on the top end and bottom end rebuild, at least for two stroke, it's not as difficult as I thought
