When I plug it in before can turn it on it shorts out, how can I fix that

Quick question, let's say I'm washing a car and I do my pre rinse, then snow foam right away. Do I need to turn the machine and the hose off between the 10-20 minutes I'm spending on scrubbing my car before I decide to rinse the soap off? Or can I just turn the switch off on my machine and leave my water hose running in that period of time? Just bought one and I'm yet to try it out.

How do we empty the soap dispenser? I ran low pressure water for nearly 30mins and it still contained the soap. Thank you.
