From what you are saying it sounds like the little stick on old laptops. They had the tri-pad and then a little 'nub' in the middle of it all that you could control your cursor with as well. Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

The New 3DS reminds me of Nintendo's Game Boy Micro. The Micro had interchangeable faceplates as well.

They moved the cartridge slot down there so it's easier to eject and insert games, when it was at the back sometimes you'd have to bend the screen and stuff to get it out, I mean it wasn't that difficult to eject but placing it on the front makes it much more easier.

Great new design. Like the coloured buttons, and the better slot placement. The little nub stick seems an odd choice, though - it definitely looks too small to be of much use. It'll be fun to see what they try and do with it, I guess... :)

Great thorough review! The New 3DS looks cool but I might have to wait til they come with a cool bundle or a limited color I really love. Not a "run out and buy it day one" purchase for me.

I hope there aren't too many new games that require this console. I already have a 3DS and a 3DS XL. I do like the changeable faceplates, though.

While I'm definitely not a fan of the Princess Peach faceplate, the New 3DS is on my Must Buy list. To make sure humanity is around to make it for me, my Robot Uprising will be postponed until mid-2015.
