They are still friends. they performed together on december 1st at Big Sean's concert in Detroit. and like a week ago they both performed at Justin Biebers concert. he is talking about his friend Pat Piff. He says "your two best friends just living out your dream" meaning him (Mike) and Big Sean.

I could not be a bigger Ed fan, but still love this version, it's simply a different song. Just has the same chorus, and a whole different style with Posner producing. After listening to the original hundreds of times, this shows a whole different aspect of the potential of Ed's songwriting ability, and makes me respect both of them more.
