MOVE.Tavira - "Por ti, pela Saúde, pela Vida", uma iniciativa organizada pela Associação Oncológica do Algarve (AOA), em parceria com o Município de Tavira, com a União de Freguesias de Tavira e com a Casa do Povo de Santo Estêvão, decorreu no Domingo dia 31 de Março, com Partida/Chegada, na Praça de República, em Tavira.

Apesar do evento se ter realizado no último domingo de Março, assinalou o "Dia Internacional da Mulher" e, teve ainda os objetivos de alertar para a importância da prevenção e deteção precoce do cancro, em particular da mama; sensibilizar os participantes para a prática de um estilo de vida saudável e de angariar fundos para a obra da AOA, em prol do doente oncológico e seus familiares.

A ação esteve ainda integrada, pelo 2º ano consecutivo, no Calendário Regional de Marcha/Corrida do Algarve, do IPDJ - Instituto Português de Desporto e Juventude e foi um evento, aberto à participação gratuita de todos, tendo sido registadas cerca de 300 inscrições ao abrigo deste Calendário do IPDJ. Além destas participações, houve ainda cerca de 600 inscritos, que contribuíram a favor desta causa de luta contra o cancro, que é uma causa de todos nós e adquiriram o Kit Solidário - MOVE.Tavira, perfazendo assim cerca de 9 centenas de participantes nesta 11ª edição do evento.

Tendo como mote principal a prevenção da doença e a promoção da saúde, a iniciativa teve um programa repleto de atividades, num dia abençoado pelo sol, tais como uma Marcha/Corrida com dois percursos, de 5 kms e de 9 kms; rastreios de saúde (glicemia, pressão arterial e colesterol); aulas de fitness e até atividades lúdicas para os mais novos.

MOVE.Tavira - "For you, for Health, for Life", an initiative organized by the Oncological Association of the Algarve (AOA), in partnership with the Municipality of Tavira, the Union of Parishes of Tavira and the Casa do Povo de Santo Estevão, took place on Sunday, March 31st, with Departure / Arrival, in Praça de República, in Tavira.

Although the event took place on the last Sunday of March, it marked the "International Women's Day", and also had the objectives to alert to the importance of the prevention and early detection of cancer, in particular of the breast; to sensitize the participants to the practice of a healthy lifestyle and to raise funds for the work of the AOA, for the benefit of cancer patients and their families.

The action was also integrated, for the 2nd consecutive year, in the Algarve Regional March / Race Calendar, of the IPDJ - Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth and was an event, open to free participation of all, with about 300 registrations registered to the under this IPDJ Calendar. In addition to these participations, there were still about 600 participants, who contributed in favour of this cause of the fight against cancer, which is a cause of all of us and has acquired the Solidarity Kit - MOVE. Tavira, thus making about 9 hundreds of participants in this 11th edition of the event.

With the main motto of disease prevention and health promotion, the initiative had a program full of activities on a sun-blessed day, such as a March / Race with two courses, 5 km and 9 km; health screenings (blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol); fitness classes and even play activities for the younger ones.
