I love the vibe of this video. I go to UCF and I will say it’s a wonderful place to be. It has its own community, a bubble reserved for learning and exploring. And a football team that just made it into the Power 5! I truly am proud of our school and it’s accomplishments. We were started back in the 60’s to supply NASA with talent. A tradition that last to this day (20% of their staff comes from our school). We have a rich, vibrant, community. My favorite time to explore campus is spring/summer because the landscaping is incredible. An hour on campus wasn’t enough to explore all the hidden gems dotted throughout (Like the walkway between the health buildings) or the Nike Communities Layout. We also have a downtown campus that is completely vertical for that big city vibe and an award winning medical campus at Lake Nona. I love the experiences I’ve been lucky to be apart of. I am proud to be a Knight.

As someone who’s transferring from community college soon, this video was super helpful. I have no idea where I want to go and I wanted to tour most of the schools you mentioned so that saved me some time!

I go to FGCU and I absolutely LOVE the school. I wish he talked more about the water and nature because that is what the whole campus revolves around. And that waterfront is literally the best because you can rent out boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. as well as a beautiful resort style pool and aquatic center. The place truly looks like a resort and it blows me away every day that I get to study there.

I graduated from FAU back in 2014, it’s nice to see the campus. Has been awhile!

USF is in a shady area. But, at the same time, the campus is awesome, there’s a bunch of natural areas right outside of campus, and a lot of cool places on campus if you like nature. Also, river walk, ybor, st.Pete, Clearwater and Sarasota are pretty close and have so many fun things to do for relatively cheap.

I’m seeing this after doing so much of my own research. I’m basing my choice mostly off of my area of study (Animation) and community. Unfortunately animation isn’t everywhere in FL without going to private school, but im lucky that UCF offers the program. And I got accepted for a transfer for Spring 2023! This video just makes me feel way better about my decision to stay in state for university~

UCF didn't accept me (I applied a bit late in the year for the term I wanted), so I went with FAU instead. And oh man am I glad I went with FAU over UCF - the campus is much prettier, everyone there is really friendly, the buildings are really modern (and they're still renovating the old buildings), I was able to get an on-campus job that I really enjoyed (only a 10-minute commute!), and everything that I could ever need is on campus. It may not have a ton of things to do directly on campus (their events calendar is a bit lacking) but given all the positives I'm really proud to be an Owl! 🦉

This was awesome! My son is looking at several of these schools, but we’re in NJ so this was hugely helpful! He also wants to know the “minuses” for campuses so this was a good help.

As a high school senior, who is currently looking Florida colleges, I toured UF and wasn’t as impressed by it as a lot of people are. The campus wasn’t really my vibe and everything felt very serious. I actually much preferred USF and UCF campuses and environments so much so that I didn’t end up applying to UF, but it was really interesting to see your takes on the campuses!

UCF 2011 grad here who makes it back all the time for football games. Props on making it to all the campuses! As someone who has spent quite a bit of time at all of the below campuses, here’s my totally biased opinions for those looking to make the decision:

For UCF - location is incredible as you have your own college town but it’s a 15 min drive from downtown Orlando which has a SUPER underrated nightlife and is the fastest growing city in the country. Many of my college friends have jobs and continue to live in and love Orlando. It was definitely a party school when I was there and I had a blast, that said even when I went it was getting difficult to get into and more difficult now so I wonder if that’s changing. The uni identity/culture is very strong and the school is absolutely massive so whatever you’re into you can find like minded individuals. People who want an intimate college experience can get lost in its size. Cocoa beach isn’t too far, I used to go for a morning surf sesh before class. I think the campus is pretty but to each their own. I studied engineering with a business minor btw, one was much more intense than the other. Take a guess….

FIU - I took a summer semester there, campus is comparable to UCF in terms of looks (more Miami/modern/tropical architecture) and also a big school. It definitely felt like a commuter school and lacked some identity. Art museum was cool. DEFINITELY NOT in the heart of Miami like you say, it’s pretty far out west of downtown esp considering that Miami traffic.

FAU - nice but also commuter school vibe for the most part. Most people I know that went there didn’t live on/around campus. Plus Boca’s too sleepy for me but once again to each their own. BTW the football stadium is tiny (30k) and you can’t see the water unless you’re a VIP in the tower, video’s not accurate on that . They do have an on campus stadium and play in the American though so not hating on them, just bad description.

UF - it’s the flagship school in the state, great academics if you can get in probably should go. My brother was at UCF when I was deciding so it’s not always as cut and dry as academics. Plus Gainesville is in the absolute middle of nowhere, country ass town…

FSU - kind of like UF but replace the academics with partying. Tally, despite being the state capital, is even more so than Gainesville in the absolute middle of nowhere, country ass town. You are far from anything remotely resembling a city.

Miami - unless your parents are multimillionaires or they’re offering you significant financial aide to make it comparable to a public school tuition, DO NOT bury yourself in debt to attend that school. ITS A QUARTER MILLION IN TUITION FOR 4 YEARS?!? Maybe for med school…. Private schools are a racket in any case when better academics can be had at 1/10th the cost at a public uni. Campus is in a fantastic location but that doesn’t even come close to justifying the price. Unless you’re going to Harvard/Stanford/ etc, don’t even consider the price of a private institution.

USF - as a biased Knight, no… just no.

You should do a video on the social lives of each school (party scene, campus life, etc). You could also add in Lynn and Eckerd!

great video! you should do a video explaining what majors the school is mostly known for, you did mention UF was known for sciences so that was very helpful, we toured UCF and I've seen and heard they are more known for engineering as opposed to science majors

I graduated from UCF in 1990. Back then, the school was small with an undergrad enrollment around 25K. It has completely changed now. It's too big in my opinion.
