NOTE: If you are using VMWare and select NEW VM and choose "installer disc image file ISO" when trying to install your WINDOWS SERVER, you will be hit with an error. This is the workaround/fix - Instead of choosing "installer disc image file ISO" select "I will install the operating system later" - Once you have your VM created, attach the Windows Server ISO and boot it up. You should be good to go.

For any of you on Windows that are having the VM abort in VirtualBox as soon as you start it, you might have to enable Virtualization Technology on your computer via BIOS and then from there enable Hyper-V via the Control Panel

Dear MyDFIR,

I'm following your tutorial and I have a question about the commands sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade. In your tutorial, you mention a pink screen with options appearing after running these commands. However, when I run these commands on my system, nothing happens after the update and upgrade are complete.

Is there something I might be missing?

I'm running VMware 16 so it has problem with windows server 2022. I installed windows server 2019 instead. Is that okay? BTW I have windows 10, Kali and Ubuntu as VMs. thank you and your videos are educational and very good! excited to see part3!

Thanks for such a great video content. I had an issue with downloading the Kali-linux on the my Oracle Virtual Box. The error message read was Inaccessible. How did you tackle this step when building out your lab?

I’ve asked this question before and never got a response. I already have kali Linux and Ubuntu downloaded on my hp laptop. The only thing I do not have downloaded is splunk. Is downloading virtual box ? Do I have to import Kali and the other softwares into virtual box?

Hello, when ive tried to set a public ip for my splunk server I get this error in azure " Your subscription for this location is at its quota of 3 static IP addresses and will be unable to use static assignment"
