I hate with a passion people leaving a total mess in clothing shops. It’s plain disrespectful and shows a lack of education to do such a thing.

It's not a bargain unless it's actually something you need.

Our family bought two enormous bears at Costco(US) over 25 years ago. Back then they weren't lightweight (60lbs each). We have moved a couple of times and threatened to get rid of them but my daughter always complains. We put out foot down when we moved to a smaller house. Daughter moved from Southern California to Reno Nevada. She drove one car through a heck of a snowstorm with bear in the passenger seat and son in law moved the other one in his They have survived through my two kids, three grandkids and many large dogs. Brilliant.

What people may not realise is the out of date products would be in the tip/landfill if it wasn't resold- it shows how much waste is created by the way we produce groceries

I don’t have issue with these bargain hunters. I too like a bargain. I have issue with the over consumption that occurs because of their need to buy the bargain item when they don’t need it. Who needs over 60 pizzas in their freezer? This is the ultimate issue with society in modern times. Consume more more more. Waste is high.

I'm so glad I shifted to a minimalist lifestyle. Now I don't have to wait for "bargains" at most shops, since I go to a shop (or online) once or twice in a few months. Live simple, splurge on holidays.

that out of date store is genuis, the amount of food people waste by going by dates on products (which are only advisory) is crazy!

How can people be snobby about other people saving an absolute fortune on shopping.... especially in today's world where products cost a lot of money. Fair play to them.

My wife is obsessed with bargains. She refuses to ever buy anything that costs more than a fiver. The problem, she buys everything she comes across that costs less than a fiver "because it's such a bargain". When you add it all up, it would have been cheaper for her to buy a mansion in Beverly Hills.

It's not an obsession anymore.
It's become a necessity !

There’s a shop near me where they sometimes put things like the out of date cereal near the checkout to take for free. Better than throwing it out and you’re never guaranteed that something will be there so I don’t think they’d lose much money by people purposely holding back on their normal purchases.

To be fair, this works with the food, its not being wasted and its not going into landfill….. gets my vote. So much is thrown away when its perfectly edible

The first woman said her weekly food bill was £50. It was all junk food, not a single vegetable. Junk food is always cheaper than healthy food

That woman’s comment about disposing of the shoes after one wear is the problem I have with businesses like this. Cheaply made and poorly made. A point made clear by the man at beginning talking about his kids going through a pair of shoes, from Shoe Zone, a month

You could always save money by not buying products you don’t need 🤷🏻‍♀️

There's is nothing wrong with doing everything you can to support your family or saving for something for your family. It's hard work to coupon and cost compare.

I happened to be in Aldi last night just as a member of staff brought out the reduced meat. I had to circle like a vulture waiting for her to finish, but I dove in there and got enough meat for a month for about £7.
