Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Review - Is It Worth It?

With Baldur's Gate III just ahead of us, I was recently inspired to dive back in to one of my favorite games of all time: Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. But with that deep-dive came the question: is the game still worth playing some 20+ years on? For that, I needed to go a bit deeper still for an introspective look back at the game that launched BioWare and Black Isle, and spawned a generation of D&D-based games to follow.

Enjoy your playthrough! The Baldur's Gate games are definitely some of my favourite games of all time. Are you planning to play through the expansions? I went through BG again, plus the recently released Siege of Dragonspear expansion (felt I should start right from the beginning again), and plan to play through BG II again and Throne of Bhaal, which I've never touched before. Probably won't finish before BG III goes into early access, but then I generally wait for the final releases before diving into things.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were made by Bioware not Black Isle.
