Team Black Sheep Discovery catches lightning

Trying to grab 15 minutes of lipo to test the TBS Disco the night before last for low light via 1.3 video and proximity penetration at low altitudes through buildings and trees here in the bottom of town I raced against nightfall and a storm. I rose up and risked a few shots as it approaced.

TBS Disco powered by SunnySky 980kv and controlled by a full Naze32 with no GPS or rssi or OSD. Full range tests done manually with servo prior to this flight. Maxium safe test flight was 1.5km at low power using stock antenna on radio and a small sander style diversity on craft. 1.3 VTX was clear except at lower than 6 feet from ground. Thick trees and brush, buildings- slight incline the entire way from launch with no ground penetration impeding. Airscrew 1.3 on craft vtx (rmrc400mw heatsink removed) with Circular Wireless omni on receiver. Radio and vtx, and vrx all filtered with high and low pass respectively.

I was rather surprised at how well it performed in these circumstances. High humidity makes for some fuzzy spots and sporadic static during close lightning strikes.

You should see them in Thailand! It's just freakin' impressive!
Happy weekend and stay safe from lightning :)
