Yep, the brushes end up digging into and grooving the surface of the actuator. Mine only has 57k miles, and this has happened. Luckily, I have a warranty that will cover both repairs for $200.

Hi, wonder if you can help me, i purchased this part OEM new. The center part is spinning independently for some reason. Any idea why? Not spinning the valves camshaft.

I'm taking mine apart as we speak, and I'm having trouble. I was just trying to replace the cover with the sensor, and i wanna know if I have to take that whole side off like you did here just to change that? Im getting that same code, P0010.
