Baki disarming Yujiro with his apology is amazing

What's more is that the one thing Baki needed in order to reach Yujiros level was to let go of his resentment and just approach him man-to-man, which he did

It's both weird and wholesome to see Yujiro and his son together like this where the situation doesn't involve animosity

I like how Yujiro is 2 completely different people. When it comes to his fighting and strength, he’s merciless, but as a regular guy, he has manners, thankfulness, and consideration

Sometimes, I forget that Yujiro is a world travelled, all experiencing type of man. The guy reads, learns and tries almost anything. He's a monster, but also an incredibly intelligent man and those moments surprise me still. You can kinda see why Baki and others admire Yujiro despite how horrible he is.

baki is literally just such a well written protagonist in my humble opinion. hes really just a kid trying his best at heart and even if his father is the most hardened man in history he is still able and willing to connect with him in a way that no one else had been able to.

Baki and his dad reminds me of my father and I. I’m not the best son and he’s not the best dad but we did have moments like this. I remember them fondly.

yujiro isn't the best dad in anime but he does educate his son in many great moments and gives good takes like here and even when he talks to Baki and his girlfriend

Its actually nice to see yujiro may be the best and above everyone he shows good table manners and can respect traditional courtesy like bowing before and after his meals.

I may question Baki sometimes but I do appreciate that he at least tries to have Yujiro act like a proper father by doing this. Even after everything he is still Yujiros son after all. A son wanting to spend time with and to get along with his father even one like Yujiro is completely natural.

I remember watching the old original series 'Baki the Grappler' years ago and seeing how Baki was so full of terror, hatred and yet also had respect for his father while his father was just like this crazy incomprehensible super being of unrivalled power...seeing them sharing a meal, just having any interaction without bloodshed or at least minimal bloodshed just blows my mind.

The imaginary food bit is something else. Realistically, both of them never said a word and are playing charades, but they still know EXACTLY what they are saying, doing and eating. Hell they are having a full on telepathic conversation. That is a REAL connection

One of the best moments of the series. There's always something special/interesting about character down time. It gives them a bit more depth. Especially for these type of hyper characters.

Even though Baki’s dad seems scary, but it shows that him and his son’s relationship is strong

The tension in this arc that builds into genuine Father-Son relationship makes me happy to be a Man. Those moments where you connect with your Dad are really special, but the rest can feel tense or awkward, this arc did a good job showing that. Yujiro is the strongest man on the planet but to many who grow up with their Father, their Dad is the strongest man on the planet.

Yujiro is a good example of holding oneself to a higher standard. Yes, he is a monster in every sense of the word, but that does not mean he behaves like a rabid animal and live in squalor. Yujiro is the kind of person who refines and masters every aspect of their life, not simply martial arts.

Yujiro is, for lack of a better word, a paragon.

I'm sure he is proud watching his son growing into this strong human being.

But when his son bowed for forgiveness for the coffee there, it cracked his icy cold heart just a little bit

Baki's apology is extremely amusing and well-portrayed. One of the very few ways to throw Yujiro completely off balance is simply not fighting him.
