Shaky Rig #2 with 4x LFEs, Geko GS-105C, AccuForce

This is an updated driving rig design using spring mounts. The springs have been placed closer to the chair so that the frame will tilt more, and to give the ButtKickers more leverage. The springs have also been switched from a 4-corner layout to a diamond layout, which allows the rig to tip front-to-back and side-to-side more easily.

The use of a 2DOF G-seat and a strong force feedback wheel causes the weight to shift around while driving, which produces even more motion.

There is a lot of flex in the frame, which wasn't really intentional but adds to the movement a well. The way the Unistrut is connected allows it to twist a bit, and the front section is 10-series 80/20 which is a little undersized for the job.

Awesome! It looks like you didn't preload the springs by tightenimg the top bolt. Could explain why it's only isolating and not really damping. According to the manufacturer, you're supposed to compress the spring enough to be able to easily slide a credit card between the coils. Otherwise it will be super floppy rather than just floaty. Curious how this build held up over the years?

Hey man, thanks for a great vid and very informative step by step build you made! I'm looking to do something very similar but wanted to ask does the shaking affect the VR at all? Thanks

I really like the concept of the spring mounts... Do you have the model number from McMaster and can you post or send more detailed pictures of your rig
