Nobi has a built-in motion sensor and intelligent lighting effects. For example, waking up at night, if a light went to 100%, it could be jarring, causing disorientation and maybe a fall. The Nobi is smart enough to know the time of day and deploy lighting that aims upwards, offering a more diffused but viewable pattern that is easier for the eyes to adapt.

Nobi also has fall detection built-in. If a loved one were to fall and could not get up, the Nobi App would notify loved ones with a photo. The photo only shows where the person has fallen with a skeleton-like location marker to preserve dignity and privacy. Nobi will also ask a series of questions to assess if the person is OK. If the person is unable to answer the questions, it will then alert emergency services for assistance. Nobi can also integrate with things like Smart Locks to allow paramedics safe entry. Other technologies are being looked at for future upgrades.

As our population ages and we seek to become more independent later in life, these devices will help make those decisions a little easier and safer.
