Android Lollipop is a disaster for Google with so many bugs yet they released it anyway. Android Lollipop has battery drain issues, wifi Issues, force close issues, memory leaks and encryption bugs.

None of our devices running Android Lollipop have problems from the Nexus 5, 10 HTC One M8 and the Nvidia Shield Tablet it's a mess and a half for Google.

Really we should be demanding a much faster release for these fixes as they are crucial to the eco system and your partners. ****

I've been running L since the Dev edition on my nexus 5. Not saying it's perfect, but I am getting more battery life and just a better experience all round. It hiccups more than kit Kat, but that's to be expected from a new build. I've had some problem with memory leaks, but they've all been fixed in the .1 update. I think you guys are overanalyzing this, from the comments I've seen the general consensus is not as terrible as you're making it out. So far it's been the most enjoyable version of android I've ever used and I'm REALLY enjoying the little things about it that build a complex OS

ANDROIDIZEN....I have disabled updates to lollipop. My Bro in law downloaded lollipop on his(same phone as myself) LG G3.His battery is maxed out at 4 hours. His wifi drops constantly.BT sports app no longer works with lollipop. Its a complete farce, I am bypassing lollipop and sticking with Kit Kat!

Do you have a recent upgrade to this video? It is very hard to find when the categories seem to show the most watched videos first in the list, therefore they are probably going to be old videos. And when I scroll down that list I see old videos first... I wish the newest video on a subject was shown right at the top of the list.

Thanks for this video. I have a Nexus 5 and I updated to Lollipop, probably the most important mistake I've ever made.
I understood during the Google I/O congress that Lollipop will mean bugs and regression, but eventually, I could not imagine the disaster it is actually.
Not only the bugs in fact (memory leaks (causing huge lags after a while), Wi-Fi bug, Force Closes, compact notification actions not working, even the flappy bird easter egg is buggy as hell…). Lollipop is also plainty of regressions and bad choices : end of widgets on lockscreen support, forced light theme that is not good for our eyes nor for the battery, ugly animations, less actions in the power menu (only Shutdown available. What is the sense of doing a menu with only ONE option?), the notification bar doesn't allow colors anymore (only the alpha chanel is taken into account), the shortcuts are unpractical to access and to use, the notifications on lockscreen would be cool if only it gives the choice to hide the foreground services or some apps (or at least, give an option to do so in the API instead of this setVisibility(PRIVATE) which is showing a blank notification), ART could also have been a good point, but it seems buggy, slow, and undocumented causing tweaks (like Xposed framework) harder to develop. I could continue this way for hours.
The only good point of Lollipop is the battery saving mode which really helped me yesterday, but I think I will switch back to KitKat soon.

Android 5.1 still has issues. One major one is the memory leak. It uses too much ram and causes my apps to close. I had to back track to KitKat 4.4.4. Once I downgraded to kitkat it was night and day. It was clear that KitKat was smoother and had a much better battery life.

How bizarre.. I've not had any problems at all with lollipop on my Nexus 5. Is it possible that at least some of these issues are caused by not doing a proper factory reset and installing it manually? I never rely on OTA updates - so much possibility for failure

The memory leak and battery drain is so bloody annoying. I get the Wi-Fi issues and it really makes me hate my nexus 5. Some people say that they don't have it and that's good, but for the people that do it's breaking there phone and feels more like a virus then a update.

lollipop 5.0 on my Nexus 7 2012 WAS a disaster!! For the last 3 months since I installed it, I had very slow sync, updating and opening web pages; apps hanging and screen and lollipop shutdowns and restarts in auto-mode. Tried all sorts of remedy-- and finally resorted to using my wife's iPad 2. What a relief it was to FINALLY get the update to 5.02 TODAY.

Omg this lollipop update is more than a disaster, it's just so so so bad. I had a perfectly working S5 until this update but all it's good for now is throwing it against a wall. Wifi conflicts, battery drain, lagging, freezing, forced closure. I mean why remove the mute button ffs??? Was the mute button causing a problem? Was the black backgrounds with white writing a problem? but now it's the other way around, I've turned my brightness down to as low as it will go and it's still too bright. On some of my menus i can't actually see what I'm on because of the colours. It's disgusting. And in writing this post my battery has dropped by 8% because of the wifi not staying connected. Samsungs answer to this luck, like it or lump it. Great customer service Samsung. Oh and I've been trying to update 5 apps, it's been going on for an hour to tell me all 5 failed.

Okay first off, I'm all for personal opinion. Now, I have the Note 4 with Sprint running 5.0.1. I have not experienced any performance issues (it's actually extremely smooth) and as for Google's excuse f9r not pushing an update quickly to fix the known issues with 5.0.1, they dont only have to worry about one ecosystem like Apple does. Google has many many more companies to push updates for. Anyone can feel free to add to this if desired.

I remember when Google released the clip you showed of the material design in the beginning of the video. And nothing really is like that. Not the animations. The looks or the apps that they had in it.

Why would any company make changes that decrease functionality? I used to love my Nexus devices running Android 4. It was a smooth, fast, elegant and functional experience. Now on Android 5 the devices are all-but unusable. There's a delay of between ten and thirty seconds between tapping the screen and seeing anything happen, the music player stutters and stalls, videos freeze, the photo app shows low resolution, blurred images, and the machine crashes at regular intervals. Strangely enough, some third party apps run without problem, like 'Quickpic' and 'Music' so at least there's some alternative to the built-in apps. Previous updates to the Android OS have been great improvements but internet forums are bursting with complaints about this one, and quite rightly. As somebody said "If I bought a car that works and I woke up one day to find the garage had been round and fitted square wheels as an 'upgrade' I'd be within my rights to be annoyed!

Running CM12 on my LG G3 on 5.0 1. This is a beta built and I have none of the issue you talk about. This runs better then the official 4.4.4. That came with the phone.
