This is a pretty old scam at this point. My grandma got a call to send money to bail me out of jail... she proudly told me how the conversation went. She told them i'm a grown boy and can deal with the consequences of my actions. lol. RIP grams.

Thank goodness they were able to reach their daughter-in-law! I'm thrilled all turned out fine. God bless!

I’ve known the Merrill’s for a long time, they’re a sweet couple and have a great family. So glad Kate was able to calm them and get to the bottom of the situation. Sam’s a good boy.

Same sort of scam happened with my stepmom last year. They were very convincing but fortunately she called and asked about my nephew. They didn't get any money but what is scary is that they had just enough access to personal information to setup such a scam. Our elderly come from a generation that is willing to trust and try to help when they can. To target these people is infuriating.

I take they were the "USUAL SUSPECTS" or it's a "CULTURE THING" because the comments are few.... probably case workers scamming on their day off right???
