My bro's and I left Tampa for the Grand Dragon and Smokies and back to Tampa. Next trip is the 100th anniversary Laconia. All of us are over 60.

I wish we keep the current vehicles and go back to the 50's towns & roads. Interstates are great if you are forced to travel long distances, but as a vacation or adventure - they suck.

We have made the trip several times on our trike, Canada to Mexico, San Francisco to Tennessee once. Best trip ever, wish we could do it all

Route 66 on my bike is a bucket list item of mine. Followed, of course, by a run back up north on the PCH and back over the Rockies thru Sturgis SD for bike week. Oh well, a guy can dream. Thanks for documenting your journey, it allows us guys still dealing with kids and jobs to live vicariously thru y'all. Good luck on the road guys.

Craig thanks for posting this adventure. I know how much work goes into the filming, editing, etc. but it is well worth it (to me) so that I can watch each segment while enjoying my morning coffee. Be safe and have fun!

Thank you for the "left coast". My family has been there since 1865, having come out to Oregon by covered wagon, then down to CA. Two years ago we finally had enough and left to NV next door. Hoping for some long trips before late fall. I enjoyed your CA videos and decided to go back to the beginning of all this for the starting days.

We hit Route 66 in Joplin, MO, on our way back from Sturgis last year. Enjoy your trip 👍🏻

I don't know if you read all your comments, but I hope this one makes it to you..
Last year marked my 60th time around the sun, and I decided to do a summer motorcycle trip for the first time.
I attribute my inspiration and my encouragement to a handful of people.
My dad you introduced me to motorcycling and a few youtubers who made it seem possible.
You were one of those people.
Thank you for your content and helping me to check off a bucket list item late, but completed!
Thank You for your inspiration!
Keep going..
There are others that need adventure in their lives..

Check the oil every 1, 000 miles on a G'Wing? I've owned four GL1800's and I've never added a DROP between changes. EVER. The only time I check the oil is just before an oil change to reaffirm that it used none. I wonder what Honda has done to make this improvement on a bulletproof design? Come off of some of that money and buy yourself a decent aftermarket seat. Absolutely the best money I ever spent was on a Corbin seat. Your butt will thank you! Great video. Thanks for the ride along.

I rode long stretches of 66 in Illinois in the the early 80’s while attending Illinois State University in Normal. Most of it from Joliet to Bloomington and south towards Springfield. I used to give rides to friends in college. They had to choose the direction. And if it was self it was route 66. Find a lot of little towns. And a lot of history. Just south of Bloomington is a small town called Funks Grove. They were the first family to break the prairie in Illinois. They were also the pioneers of hybiding corn. As they developed better hybrids, they shared them freely with their neighbors. So as you ride past the corn fields, watch for the hybrid names at the edges of the fields. Your bound to see Funk. There is a Funk Prairie home in Shirley IL. Along with the Funk gem and mineral museum. Anyone traveling that part of 66 should make an appointment and stop by. (Tours by appointment only)

They used their corn to feed cattle. The drove the cattle to market in Philadelphia or New York. Chicago didn’t exist yet. The used the money to buy more land. They have more land than any county in Illinois. And the funk families still own it! The gem and mineral museum is the LARGEST collection in the world. Bigger than the Smithsonian! And it’s all just off trying 66!

It was great seeing you at Uranus Fudge Factory. The places we run in to other bikers. Lol. Ride safe. Great video.

You also need to make a stop at a “Roadkill Cafe”. A touristy venue with 5 or 6 locations on 66.
