My buddy was working for a tree service company makin 40k but when he got his master arborist he got a job offer from another company making 240k so credential can definitely translate to higher paying jobs

Being certified is a credential that gives you a bit more sway with a customer base. People seem to take your advice and input more seriously, but it isn't the end all/be all.

Sprat level 3 here. Looking to go from industrial work to arborist. Considering the certificate right now.

Good point. I personally do not have certificate but I spend almost all of my free time at self education. I consider myself a self-educated person, not self-taught as I was 7 years ago.
