Dark Light Review

#darklightgame It's October and I wanted to play something spooky. Luckily Dark Light by Mirari & Co. delivered with a good dose action as well!

Great choice to review this game.

Was really well done and I hope to see more like this from you.

That said, I want to give a digital fist bump and thanks for including all the major check marks of a good review, and in this case, I’m referring to the music. So many reviewers never touch that side of gaming and it’s hugely important yet really appreciated or even acknowledged. Essentially that’s what good soundtrack music is though. It almost creeps in without you noticing only to deliver the chefs kiss, cherry on top, icing on cake, perfect pub pour type of way, often pulling us to or driving us into vats of various emotions or feelings or excitement or dread. It’s so I tune with our bodies, these vibrations we call music, we don’t even recognize how sounds can make your insides feel.

Ok that’s a little much for this. But music is THAT important if every medium and life

Just wanted to say thanks for giving this one its due without going overboard or better yet, without skimping on that aspect either.

What great looking game. You read my mind when you said it reminded you of early Castlevania. Love the colors of the world and design of the main character. Glad it's not a pixel art game too. Thanks for the review.

I bought Dark Light today and played it for 4 hours. So far I'm really enjoying this game. The combat is really addictive. :)

I have started playing this - slow start but the game mechanics are solid. I would recommend Haak as a metroidvania for anyone looking for new games in this genre

Looks pretty good. I just hope it lives up to the high bar other games have set for this genre. So many games in the last couple years have fell short due to the popularity and quality of these games

Gorgeous looking platformer! The music does have that early 90’s shoot em up vibe. Would definitely have to check this one out! 🙂

Definitly it has the bones to be one of the big revelations this year. With the recent patch it has gotten even more content and if the devellopers include even a little more of meat on the game it will be awesome. As it is right now its fun and almost a good game on its own, so better keep an eye on this one

Wow! I just noticed this game for sale on PS store online and had never heard about it. It’s in new release section. So when I got this review, I surely thought this was super recent. Wasn’t till the end when you were saying can’t wait for full product that was like huh?

Then I saw the date

Point is, clearly the time was worth it. Many other reviews are singing praise.

FYI: a few good new rougelites out now are Warm Snow and Trinity Fusion, which has a similar art and graphical style as this while adopting the Dead cells type design
