Realme 4K Smart Google TV Stick - Contender?

This is the Realme 4K Smart Google TV Stick and in this video I will do a full honest review. Is it worth the money, how does it perform, is it a good streaming device and more... I have to say, this could be a contender for the likes of the Chromecast, Firestick, etc.

Do you think this comes close to the Firestick 4K Max? Amazon really dominate streaming sticks. But you could also get the Chromecast with Google TV cheaper (when not on offer).

I own this device for about 7 months now, and one important info that made me choose it, i's because the volume is digital, different from other devices like the FireTV Stick that controls the volume using HDMI CEC, I own an old TV connected to my Home Theather through an analog port, with the digital volume, I'm able to control the volume directly from the Realme TV Stick, I had a FireTV Stick Basic before, and everytime that I wanted to change volume, I had to grab the home theater remote control, that was a little bit anoying.

I'm using Button Mapper App, I was able to create shortcuts on the streaming buttons to basically every streaming app that I use, for example:

Netflix Button:
Press once, opens netflix
Press twice, opens Disney+

Config Button
Press and go straight to config, avoiding the side bar,
Press twice, opens google play store,
Press and hold, opens background, to close faulty apps

One thing that did not work for me was the HDMI CEC to turn On/Off, with the FireTV Stick I was able to, at least, turn the TV on pressing the home button on the remote control

So far the Google TV experience is way better than FireTV OS, at least for me

With my Google TV Chromecast I store files on a USB drive plugged into my router. I then have VLC installed on the three TVs that have Google TV dongles. VLC shows the router as a network server and I have the file location set as a favourite. I can recommend this solution if you have a router with a USB socket on the back.

I am from South Africa and i recently bought the Nova 4K HD Android TV Box with AV1 support, Wi-Fi5, and 16 GB storage. It is powered by the latest android tv 11 sporting a powerful 64-bit quad-core processor and 4 generation Amlogic S905Y4 SoC. According to product specifications its one of the fist devices on the market supporting the new AV1 codec which uses up to 30 percent less bandwidth compared to other streaming devices. I wish you could make a review on this device.

I'll stick with the Firestick, but it's good that there's competition to keep Amazon on their toes. And if Amazon ever decide to block third party apps, we know we have options.

There he is again. Low price seems okay, £ 80 is to much.
I'm seriously wondering if the hardware might be in fact similar or the same as the xiaomi 4k stick you did a vid about recently. After all real me and xiaomi are the same brand (at least I think so). Thank you for sharing your windows story in the beginning..been there also..

This is one of the better reviews on
the channel in recent times.

I would say The Realme Smart 4k Google Stick is myb a device I would consider if I was in the market for a new streaming device at this time.

I do think it needs a bit of work in terms of regions settings that's the only thing that would perhaps put me off.

What I would say is I dont think this would be any good for older people
how tend to want to Stream things from B.B.C I - Player & I.T.V Hub
such as my parents how are in there
60's now.

I'm always looking at something else for streaming as it's all I use for my entertainment but I've not found anything that comes close to my fire TV cube ( main device) and my Nvidia shield!

I'm sure at the beginning you said it had a micro sd slot to put a memory card in. If it did have one on it I would buy one I'm losing interest in my firestick they are always trying to make things harder to side load and I'm not sure when that will end or if they will find away to stop you side loading Eventually
