Just finished Beloved. This book is like no other. And Toni Morrison is a genius, a true storyteller, and has such a unique way of manipulating language. I am so sorry it took me so long to read her work. I wish I would’ve been able to read it while she was alive because this book has changed me. Rest In Peace Ms. Morrison. This is certainly one of the most difficult and best books I have read. There are sentences in Beloved that I may never understand. But I'm okay with that. I had to read the 1st chapter 3 times before I dared moved on and now that I've completed the book I look forward to the next time I read it. Morrison is a rare jewel in all of literature.

She makes me realize my own story, the story of my brethren, who are only brethren because of an error in the code, is one that needs to be told, that I should not worry about being too preachy, for as long as I write the thing truthfully, it will come out far more tastefully than my fear of it becoming inspiration porn
