Since Bendy and the Ink Demon are basically Jekyll and Hyde, I can almost imagine this being a conversation inside their shared body (one of many) as the little guy attempts to control his dark powers for the most mundane reasons.

So. In the Dark Revival, the Ink Demon is revealed to have been tortured and experimented on, and it can be assumed that the pain that he carries is the reason why he has such a strong desire to kill everyone and everything around him.

In this comic, not only is there a creature that he doesn't want to kill, he doesn't even want to see it be hurt or upset. More than that, the Ink Demon tolerates Bendy's childlike antics so much that he's even willing to do stuff to keep Bendy happy. My question is this: why? Why is the Ink "DEMON" so careful with Bendy?

I like to think the Ink Demon sees himself in Bendy. There was a time when the Ink Demon wasn't so demonic. He was care free, curious, and happy long before the events of the game. But then he was captured and experimented on in ways I can't even imagine. After enduring so much pain, he escaped, vowing to never let anyone hurt him again.

One day, the Ink Machine produces a copy of the Ink Demon in his purer form. (Kinda like how Alisson is to Alice) The Ink Demon comes across this copy and tries to treat it like any other creature. Just another monster born of the Ink machine.

I like to imagine that he raised his hand to swipe at his loathsome copy, more content with destroying his painful reminder of his past than anyone else he's come across... only to pause. In that moment, Bendy looks up at the Ink Demon not with fear, but with a smile. Genuine happiness to make a friend somewhere in the darkness. Memories come flooding back to the Ink Demon, remembering how happy he was before he was caught. The light that he had in his eyes before the scientists took it away.

"A light like this needs to be protected. Not destroyed."

I imagine a cute, confused expression on Bendy's face as the Ink Demon says that aloud to himself. The Ink Demon turns to start walking, gesturing for Bendy to follow.... and then this comic happens five minutes later.

At least, that's how I like to imagine this happening.
