How to Mute Words and Phrases on Twitter

Want to avoid seeing words or phrases that might be triggering to you or block out spoilers of your favorite tv shows? Watch this video to learn how to mute words, phrases, hashtags, and users on Twitter.
To mute a word or phrase on Twitter, open the app and tap your profile icon in the top left corner. Then select Settings and Privacy. Now tap Content Preferences. Select Muted. Now tap Muted Words. Tap Add at the bottom. Now type in one word, phrase, or hashtag you want to mute. Below the text box, you can select where you want this word or phrase to be muted from, like your timeline and notifications, as well as if you want it muted in tweets posted by anyone, or just people you don’t follow. You can also set a duration for how long you want this to be muted: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or Forever. When you’re finished, tap Save in the top right corner. Repeat these steps to mute any additional words, phrases, hashtags, or users you don’t want to see on Twitter.
