Car manufacturers must ensure that the average CO2 emissions of newly-registered cars do not exceed company-specific targets that add up to an EU-wide average target of 95 grammes CO2 per kilometre. Otherwise, they have to pay a fine. The sale of electric vehicles is encouraged by favourable accounting rules.

Excelente video sobre las normativas de emisiones de CO2. Es interesante cómo los fabricantes de automóviles están presionados a cumplir con los objetivos de emisiones de la UE, con el riesgo de enfrentar multas si no lo logran. Las reglas favorables para los vehículos eléctricos parecen ser un paso importante hacia un futuro más sostenible, pero me pregunto cómo podemos equilibrar el impulso hacia la electrificación con el manejo de los impactos ambientales de la producción.
