✅There is a new ‘Godzilla’ in town. It’s called the GT-R T-Spec, and Nissan is hoping it will evoke feelings of nostalgia, offering the supercar with an exclusive duo of colours from the glorious R34 Skyline era. We’re talking the gorgeous Millenium Jade and Midnight Purple green and purple hues, respectively.

✅Whenever there’s a GT-R-related announcement, I invariably wonder if it’s the one that finally spells the end of the Japanese supercar. Surely, that lengthy production run, dating back to 2007, has to come to an end someday. However, Nissan has managed to prove me wrong on every occasion. This time, this introduction of a limited edition model, spiced up with a fresh coat of paint, instead aims to convince skeptics like me the ageing warhorse is not done yet, not by a long shot.

Millenium Jade first appeared on the exclusive R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür, a car limited to a run of 718 units, with only 156 finished in the unique green colour scheme. Then you have Midnight Purple, a sheen that recalls the ‘Midnight Purple III’ on the R34 V-Spec, of which a scant 132 units were built.

✅In addition to the exclusive colours, other differentiating elements of the T-Spec include a carbon-fibre rear wing, chunky front fenders (from the GT-R Track Edition) and gold Rays aluminum alloy wheels. The T-Spec interior gets an upbeat vibe, mostly thanks to a ‘Mori Green’ layout complete with leather seats, pearl suede accents, quilted Alcantara headliner, and exclusive badging. For power, the GT-R T-Spec relies on Godzilla’s trusty twin-turbocharged V6, an engine good for 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque.

✅With a price tag of about $140,000, the Nissan GT-R T-Spec slots in neatly between the entry-level $115,000 GT-R Premium and the hardcore $215,000 GT-R NISMO models. It is much closer to the Track Edition, though that’s priced at around $150,000. The T-spec will see deliveries begin October and will be a limited production model eking out a slim 100-unit run, all for the Japanese market.
