Naked Bible Podcast 095 — Resurrection and the Death of the Gods with David Burnett

This episode invites David Burnett back to the podcast for a discussion of his research on 1 Cor 15:35–50. In an earlier episode on this chapter, we talked about the meaning of Paul’s phrase “the spiritual body.” This time around, David draws our attention to the listing of “bodies” (celestial vs. earthly) in vv. 35–41 and asks: (1) what part of the OT is Paul drawing on for this list and (2) why would Paul bother to bring up this list in a discussion of the resurrection. The answers will blow your mind, as the listing derives from, and connects into, a number of well-known divine council passages. Here it is 2023 and Dr. Heiser has gone to be with our Lord but his work is still teaching us. This podcast with David Burnett re The Resurrection (body and so much more) and the way he connected so many "dots" of scripture helped to make it so much more understandable. It's so true that if we don't understand the context and the OT references we can just read right past it and never grasp it.
Thank you again to Houseform Apologetics for posting this entire grouping of The Naked Bible Podcast. I'm working my way through and must be at least 1/2 way through! Thank you again. I've learned so much. God bless you all and may Dr. Heiser's work go on in time for all who want to learn.
