CDT Trail #13 - Cuba to Chama

Cuba to Chama is an extremely interesting section of the continental divide trail. The transition from the desert to the mountains is breathtaking. The beautiful colours of the mountain flowers replace the redish desert coloration.

During Day 32 - 37 I enjoy this great shifting of nature. And last but not least I saw a wolf right on the New Mexico - Colorado border!

Barbara, I LOVED this video! You had me in tears. My Swiss parents came to Aspen in 1949 when I was two, (I still live here) and through them I learned to love the mountains. Like you, the mountains are part of me, and whenever I’m hiking I’m forever grateful to my parents for my love of the outdoors. I can’t wait for you to see beautiful Colorado. You will be fine in the San Juans; you are strong and smart, and your timing is good. I respect your love of the solitude and your independence. Be safe! After this I came to visit you several times in Taivalkoski. I was impressed by you skills and personality then and still impressed watching these videos. Please do not underestimate the snow. Crampons and having an ice axe can save your life. It is worth the extra carry!
