China will not build kra canal unless Thailand agree to let China build an army base near this canal. Thailand is very unlikely to agree to this. So this canal will remain a plan for at least next 20 years

There is no money problem for Thailand to build, and Thailand will never allow another country to lease or own the project.
The Committee is studying the Security and Environment Impacts at the moment, and it should be finished before the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

It is a just question of building Now or Later.

Not only Malaysia, Indonesia can also take benefit of this canal by developing "free port Sabang" and 'Natuna seaport' to be hub seaports to Indonesian Archipelagoes, Phillipines and Australia direction.

The location that you show is imposible to build a canal because of high mountain range.

The most suitable thai canal is from songkhla through songkhla lake, satun valley and end at satun.

I really hope this canal become reality. It will benefit the southern thai and northern Malaysia, and at same time malacca strait will not be effected because the number of ships will increase in the future and not all ship can use the canal.

Kra Canal is not a priority now.
China is now focusing on overland transport thro Myanmar, build a port at Indian Ocean side of Myanmar, and shipping from West will dock here, unload and off to China via land.
There's a YT video on this already.

If Thailand is to keep control of the canal, it is without a doubt that this will change the Thai economy for a VERY long time. Maybe foreign aid won’t be much of a requirement anymore

I think canal will be a disaster to the thailand 🇹🇭 itself south Thailand insurgency will intensify more and that area will join Malaysia 🇲🇾 or form a strict islamic malay state, economies of both malaysia and singapore will suffer but the canal is small so several large oil vessels and containers will not use it they have to travel by the older route plus the ecological damage the project will cause in the gulf of thailand will lead to fall in thai tourism and fisheries .

OK, I totally did not expect this, and was real cautious to click. Good job delivering the information quickly. I'm even going to turn off my ad blocker and hit 'refresh'. Good luck with your channel.

Dear Global Friends,

If the Kra Canal is to be cut across Thailand and Malaysia, then every year the island of Penang in Malaysia might be flooded or submerged teribbly by the short-cut of the North-East Monsoon rain, as to be annually fell along the East coast of Malaya. Annual flood will give great problem to the island people of Penang and most parts of west coast of Malaya.

It may give benefit to one part, but may also give problem to another party.

Why should Thailand be worried of losing a small southern part of it's country when it was originally from Malayan region? Proof? They were and are practising "Bahasa" in the Thai's southern part plus some of em are having their relatives currently living in Malaysia. So practically by doing so they are returning back what they shouldn't belong. And regarding the Singapore issue, I feel sorry to them. They deserve my sympathy.

I don't know, I don't think Kra Canal is feasible. Will it recoup the cost?
