The conflict began in 2014, when Russia took Crimea. Now, Ukraine is trying to retake the Russian-occupied peninsula, where Moscow stationed its Black Sea Fleet. Ukraine attacks military targets there almost on a daily basis. Overall, the Ukrainian counteroffensive is progressing slowly. In his recent visit to the U.S., President Selensky appeared to have gotten a commitment by the U.S. government for the delivery of ATACMS missiles, which the Ukrainian army can use to attack more targets in Crimea. And the first American Abrams tanks already arrived in Ukraine. So on To the Point we ask: US ATACMS Missiles and Abrams Tanks: Is Russia losing Crimea?

Thomas Wiegold is a journalist specializing in international defense and security policy

I love this format of longer form, multiple chance answers and a back a forth led efficiently by the host. The USA does NOT do this anymore. It's all rushed sound bites in a hurry to get to the next advertiser. Truly sad. But it's incredibly refreshing to see this

Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook speaks wise words, she is right to point out that the western alliances need to stop doubting Ukraine and restricting them in their actions!

I must disagree with the notion that "no weapon is a game changer." Both (a) consumer-level drone usage, and (b) HIMARs absolutely shifted the momentum of the war in Ukraine's favor MASSIVELY. In effect, they "changed the game."

The most effective Weapon system Ukraine has is Spirit, and a will to fight.

This was the best broadcast I’ve seen from "DW". There was agreement and disagreement. They all were willing to evaluate the situation looking at it from the perspective of upside down and sideways! Did they come up with THE ANSWER? NO… Am I much better informed? Absolutely!! Kudos to all!

Gen. Hodges pointed out pinpoint accuracy of what is unfolding overall Ukraine counter offensive and quite impressive word to describe as "multidomain operation" where most people did not understand until very knowledgeable Gen. Hodges explained quite clearly right to the point! USA

God Bless and Protect the Ukrainian Citizen Soldier. Slava Ukraine! It's good to see an honest patriotic competent American General like a Ben Hodges rather than a Colonel Macgregor. It's a damn shame and disgrace that Macgregor works for Putin. God Bless you General Hodges for your stalwart honest loyalty to your country and her allies.

Thank you DW for having General Hodges. He keeps it simple and easy to follow. We want Ukraine to win that makes a lot of sense to me.

Longer than usual videos here and still engaging, was surprised when it ended cause it was such a nice setup and dynamics!

Seeing how plane launched storm shadows have been effective in Crimea with the very few planes Ukraine has, Ground Launched ATACMs are going to Wreak Havoc.

Absolutely agree! So so important strategically, politically, morally. Thank you so much to all three of these panelists! And to DW for informing so effectively and not inviting hacks as panelists but rather the top analysts in the world who do not morally equivocate!

Always refreshing to see a real General speaking frankly.

Someone already pointed out, Russia has launched near 10 thousand cruise missiles on Ukraine, larger and longer range than ATACMS. Ukraine now receiving 200 ATACMS is very far from "game changer". But it is a new valuable capability, in a very limited capacity

The real game changers of the war were Javelins, drones and Himars.
