Fish are like us when we move from place to a new place-the stress of adjustment; plus it takes toll when a person is ill and decides to move to a new place- stress factors.

I work at a fish store that imports goldfish (and other fish) from Thailand from time to time. My manager has like 18 years of experience with imported fish. We feed medicated food, we treat sick fish with antibiotics that are vet prescribed, we always check our water quality the day before we get a shipment and make sure it's on point, we really genuinely try hard.

Some individuals just don't travel well. It sucks and makes me really value local breeders.
