I am 68 years old. I have never followed what the style gurus decide is all the rage. My children slept in bedroom furniture from our grandparents homes. They had a designated place for toys. The one time I caved and let my daughter have pink walls in her bedroom, we repainted to off-white in a few years time because she outgrew it. Your home is wonderful. You are blessed to have such wonderful family heirlooms. Your show is special because you make a glorious home with a budget in mind. If I were you, the minute I felt negative vibes in a comment, I would stop reading and delete it. Bless you and keep you and your precious family.

Kristen, I honestly can’t imagine why people feel the need to criticize your home design. I LOVE your home and all of your decor touches ❤❤❤❤. I never want you to feel bad from their comments. This is your home and I personally would love your home. I am a 73 year old grandma that started out living my first 13 years in Illinois and the family moved to an area in Florida where the homes are mostly stucco and look the same. Let some of the naysayers live in a 100 year old house, and they might better understand how and why you live like you do (and I do). Kristin, I don’t normally comment on any videos, but I was doing the dishes and watching this and I just want to tell you that I’m SO proud of you!! In my 20s and 30s I really cared more than I should have about others opinions. I’m currently 47 and it was really after I turned 40 that I stopped caring as much and I’m so happy that you didn’t give your peace and joy away and you are standing firm for what’s best for you and your family!! Just because someone else wouldn’t decorate that way doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It would be so boring if we all had pottery barn homes. I love your style!! It’s different than mine, but I love and appreciate other styles that are beautiful and aesthetic!! Yours is both and I’m always excited to see how you pull it all together. I love it!! Blessings!!
