Persona Q2: Canon Names Patch (Tutorial)

This patch by DeathChaos for Persona Q2 patches out the player name functions to allow the longer "canon" names that normally the player cannot fit into the name input box such as Yu Narukami to display via hardcoded name calls the same way other characters do.

To those calling "Yu Narukami" "Souji Seta" that's your opinion and I respect it, but I'm going to continue calling him "Yu Narukami" because of Persona 4 Arena which is canon.

So not really in content of this video but I found out that if you have a save file from the JP version you can copy those files and place those in the save folder from the US version and you have everything you had in your JP file. I tested that with my Jp file from my 3DS and transfer those in the us save folder in Citra and it worked perfectly. LOL

Someone finally names FeMC "Kotone Shiomi".
For P3MC I had to name him "Minato Shiomi", I don't have a problem with P4MC or P5MC because I call them as their manga names, Souji Seta and Akira Kurusu.

THANK YOU! The names I gave them were bothering me because of the limited slots for names. I had to go with "Ren Amamya" and "Yu Nrukmi". Now I have "Ren Amamiya" and "Yu Narukami"!

I've managed to get this patch running on the EUR version of the game. You will need to change the name of the titleID folder from (USA title ID) to (EUR title ID). However, I'm having a strange issue where I cannot access the DLC shop whilst this patch is applied. In order to access the DLC shop, you will need to remove the patch temporarily.


EDIT: Unfortunately using this patch on the EUR version seems to stop Sub-Persona DLC from working. (Though I'm not sure if this is the same in the US version.) However, BGM DLC seems to work fine.

Minato/Makoto Arisato: Canon P3 names
All they needed was to add 3 spaces for it
