Honestly it make sense the people think the mc is worthless with his unknown skill. To us readers we know what it means but in a narrative sense, it's the first time they seen someone with a cheat skill and all it displayed was a "weak" skill. It's not they had another cheat skill user to compare him with. Still its their lost for them to abandon him and not tried to understand a new skill.
