There is a need to publish lots of books in India on Semiconductor technologies in English and as many local languages of India as possible similar to Japanese, Koreans, Germans and Chinese do in their own countries. Right now with dollar exchange rate being around 80 rupees, the international books on semiconductor technologies and related softwares are very expensive for Indian students and junior engineers. Most Indian universities won't have latest books even on their online subscriptions making it tough for Masters and PhD students to do their academic research. For instance, the panelist Dr. Shivananda Koteshwar's book 'SoC Physical Design' is listed for $89 on the Springers website. In India, the PhD stipends range from a low of 5000 rupees until around 31000 rupees making it difficult for many students and junior engineers to afford even online subscriptions of books and IEEE journals.
