Can We Have Multiple Constructors In Python?

Instead of cheking multiple if conditions, can't we just use kwargs as shown below?
class Animal:
def __init__(self, name, species, sound=None, age=None):
self.name=name
self.species=species
self.age= age
self.sound=sound

What are you talking? You don't even know the basics. *args, is for variable number of arguments. How can you even call it multiple constructors?
