Understanding Beyblade X Attack Types

Continuing to expand on my understanding of Beyblade X I'm learning about the different ways to attack beyond just sending it as hard as I can. Between Upper Attacks, Lower Attacks, and Smash Attacks, there's plenty to go over!

Since I can't pin multiple comments unfortunately I'm going to paste some of the comments on things I've missed. Find their comments to read their full thoughts. Thank you so much to everyone sharing thoughts and info!

@sewoh100 & @Tuckwolf000 - Barrage Attacks: Focus on lots of smaller attacks to destabilize the opposing bey, blades like DranDagger or ViperTail, and the Rush bit can make this possible as well with it's different gear ratio.

@baranteyfur4800 - Stationary Attacks: Utilizing an attack blade like Shark Edge with a stamina bit like Needle to further the recoil the opposing bey will experience.

Don't forget about Barrage Attack types! The new Dran Dagger would be considered a barrage attacker and is focused on multiple hits and, like lower attack types, is for destabilizing the other bey instead of smashing the bey outright. Even Dran Dagger's bit, Rush, sacrifices the raw smash power of X-dashes to allow for Dran to do multiple dashes without loosing as much stamina, as it has a smaller gear tooth ratio and a slightly smaller base.

Bro made new meta of competitive Beyblade videos and dipped. Whenever I see someone else use the “understanding” trope in titles now for competitive Beyblade I think you.

I'm going to be honest. I finished binge watching all of your videos because of how well made they are. Seriously this is some great content that has that short, simple, and sweet aspect some people try to gain.

its nice to have a channel that purely focuses on the technical aspect of beyblade rather than just showcasing battles and unboxings. I know a lot of this but its nice to hear someone teach others.

youre actually so spot on with the descriptions. when i first started with beyblade i thought the attack types was somewhat arbitrary but they 100% makes a lot of sense in practice.

Just wanted to say thanks for bringing your attitude and point of views into this hobby. Being interested in a hobby but still being focused on learning and maturity makes it all the more fun!

Honestly this video is soooo useful from my pov, not only as someone wanting to try the game, but specially as someone wanting to DESIGN their own beys, it's just useful to know what any form om the blade does

A good way to think about upper attacks is an “uppercut”. The bey swing up from below to pop the opponent upward, causing destabilization.

Blade shape is significantly more important than weight, unless the weight creep becomes so significant that it cancels out the strength of previous bey’s shape. This is what we saw in burst, and what most of the community don’t want to have happen.

An attack type you missed (though not significant) is the Barrage Attack. This is when a blade like Vipertail or Drandagger has repeating small contact points. The idea is the blade will make multiple hits in a single motion, causing the opponent to lose spin or increasing the chance for a burst. In reality, this doesn’t happen haha. The beys immediately get thrown away from eachother after every point of contact, until the end of the match when they don’t have enough power to do any significant damage. In the final moments of a battle you will see blades have many small hits, but at this point it comes down to whichever combo has the higher base stamina. Unlike burst, x beys aren’t capable of “low speed bursts” because the ratchet requires a ton of force to untwist.

Hope this information is helpful, let me know if any of it is hard to follow or if you have any questions!! Have a great day man, love this channel!

It’s nice to see beyblade going back to the metal era I grew up with metal beys and it’s customizable even though they remind me more of shogun steel beys because of there tallness can’t wait to get an X bey

I have found absolutely insane consistency with my Keel Shark/Shark Edge 9-60 P. The P provides a decent amount of endurance while giving it a few good and powerful runs along the extreme line, and the best part is you don't even need to give it a full powered launch (in fact, full powered launch can end up with you self KOing).

still waiting for the rest of this series ! great channel 🎉

The first two attack types are based on where it aims. Upper tries to hit and make an impact to raise the opposing bey. The Lower tries to slam downward and destabilizing it. Smash hits is just a straight up ramming full force into the center horizontally

Hey! I just wanted to say i wat hed all your videos just today and think they are super well put together. Your objective in each video is direct and thought out. You speak clearly and have a certain charisma that other "beytubers" lack. Keep up the good work im only recently getting into beyblade after almost 20 years. I also think a simple sign off like "thanks for coming on this journey with me" would be helpful especially for people watching your videos in quick succession like me know when a new video starts when im turned away or something

Join us. Welcome to the hobby/sport.
Also... to clarify a bit more on the attack types.

Theres
Smash as you said
Upper as you said
Lower unsure if you said but its more or less one of the features of blades such as Vipertail, HellScythe, HellsChain. Which is to be higher then the openent and the blades conacys swoop down and tip the blade over creating a destablizing force.

Its often not very reliable if the blade attacking can be tipped over in tow.

I figured out through testings that if you hard angle launch dran sword stock, you can get some pretty sick upper attacks and gets a higher win rate than compared to when you flat launch it. Obviously this technique was common with the previous gens. But in X, you have the path divider, making flat launching no longer obsolete. But for some x beys, angle launching is still the way to go.
