Trump urges Christian voters to get out and vote

Former US president Donald Trump during a conservative Turning Point Action Believers' summit urged Christians to come out and vote for the presidential elections in November.

“Christians, get out and vote, just this time,” Mr Trump said.

“Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.”

He's speaking to Christians, a great many of whom (certain denominations) stay out of politics and never vote. He's just saying, "vote just this time" and you won't feel pressure to do so again because the country will be fixed to the point that you can stay out of politics again and return to NOT voting. That's exactly what he was saying. The key phrase for this proper context is "vote just this one time" ...again, he's speaking to people who normally don't vote for anyone. TRANSLATION: "this is an important election. Even though you may not normally vote, do it this one time and you won't have to do it again"

If you watch the full version not the cut up version, he is referring to stopping the funding to having schools teach to school children the things the majority of people don't want taught to their kids, and you wouldn't have to vote on those things anymore, cause he would issue an executive order banning the fed funds to do so. listen to the whole part of what he is saying.

How come Trump supporters constantly have to explain what Trump "actually meant". Isn't it kind of important for a potential president to be capable of explaining what they mean on their own? And how come SO OFTEN the things that are supposedly being misinterpreted are on the very specific topic of Trump wanting to be a dictator. Every few days it's "Trump doesnt want to be a dictator, what he actually meant was..."

Both things can, and and in this case are, true. Trump is an incompetent speaker and he wants to be a dictator.

As a Republican, his phrasing of the statement was absolutely moronic and careless. He continues to say things that some independents can and will take the wrong way, which will cost him votes. Trump refuses to understand that moderate voters win elections, not your base.

Honestly, what he might have meant was, “Vote for me now and I won’t be able to run a third time so you won’t have to vote to get me elected anymore. That’s the only reason you vote, right? To serve me.” He is that much of a narcissist. That doesn’t work with the “i’ll have fixed it” part, but it’s the best none authoritarian version I can come up with.
