For those who don’t know, here is a short explanation that doesn’t sound inappropriate (I hope so) about s*xual reproduction
A male has testes (singular: testis). When a male reaches maturity, his testes releases millions of sperms, also known as the male reproductive cells. A female has ovaries (singular: ovary). When a female reaches maturity, her ovary releases one egg cell, also known as an ovum or female reproductive cell.
One of the processes of reproduction is fertilisation (fertilization for American english), the fusion of a male and female reproductive cell. The male’s sperms will swim all the way to the female’s womb (I will not include all that detailed explanation about how it dies, gets food e.t.c), and comes into contact with the ovum. Countless sperms die along the way. Only one sperm can fertilise the ovum. After fertilisation occurs (most likely around the fallopian tube in the female), the fertilised egg will slowly go down to the womb and develop into a baby. I will not include the cell division and other processes
Please do not think of reproduction as something inappropriate, there is nothing wrong with it, that is the way life works. If you are a normal human, you are made of a sperm and ovum. You are made because of these processes.
Please correct me if anything I have included is incorrect, I am just listing down what I have learnt from school earlier this year.
