Always Love to see Prof. Hunter interviews, esp. of my fav's. Used Ms. Dash's movie for my film studies, she's one of the major reasons I went to film school. Daughter's of the Dust was shot so beautifully, encouraged me to shoot for the big screen. Thank you Ms. Dash for being the beginning trailblazer for All of us. What a courageous, brilliant mind! Thank you again Prof.

wonderful interview. Now some of the background stories about her times in Hollywood and all around would be a great addition to the Knarrative and Knubia family.

Thanks so much for honoring our elders and what they did to advance our cause. This is my first introduction to Ms. Dash and I will be watching Daughters of the Dust tonight. Sharing with my 22 year old daughter as well

I owe Julie Dash a debt of gratitude - Daughters of the Dust changed my life. I am ecstatic that she is being (re)recognized. My granddaughter will know DotD and be the beneficiary of all of it's phenomenal storytelling.

What a joy! I remember being at a premier for Daughters of the Dust at the Film Forum a long while back and at the end of her gorgeous mesmerizing film, Ms. Dash spoke candidly of what it took to realise, raise the money and complete her extraordinary film. Unforgettable, true visionary. Thanks for another magic, epic interview experience!

Thank you, Prof Hunter, for having our shero on & thank you, Julie Dash, for all you do! I appreciate all of Ms. Dash's work but "Daughters of the Dust" had a profound and lasting impact on me. Even without film making technical knowledge, I knew I was seeing something extraordinary and precious. Never before had I seen Black women so beautifully filmed and in such a striking setting. The cultural richness is a luxurious feast I will never get enough of. I've lost count of how many times I have watched it and I am not done! Thank you both from the bottom of my Black Woman soul.

Me and my mother (Cresa) love watching and listening to The Karen Hunter Show. I’m 58 and she’s 77. We have different taste in movies, but this is one thing we have in common is this show. Cresa, introduced me to Karen’s podcast over 3 years ago.
