He needed her so badly. Not Piper specifically, but a person who recognized and cared about who he was. This was the episode where the Charmed Ones went from someone's offspring to someone's parent - Piper was the only one who knew he needed to explode.

Love the homage to Piper’s freezing power here. Tyler saying “Now that’s cool” always stood out to me. After she developed a her combustion power, freezing sort’ve took a back seat if you will.

Subtle detail that shows Tyler is a good kid, he tries a cookie after Piper says her sister's feeling's might get hurt if he doesn't. It's not some big good deed, but it gets the message across.

One of my favorite and most underrated episodes in the charmed universe: this was also a very transformative episode, It showcased the character development /transition from Piper in the beginning of series to who she was becoming as a witch. First two seasons she was very timid, always scared and paranoid, not confident in her powers and ability. This episode showed her ability to lead and that natural mother/comforting personality we would see in the later seasons

Saying “now that’s cool” after freezing time around the fire and not when she blew up the vase really showed that not all kids think explosions are the absolute coolest thing. I mean explosions are cool, but freezing time and have it be limited to specific bubbles is way cooler

One of their greatest flaws is not immediately reacting when a sibling is acting strangely, you would think by the 3rd gone wrong they would have immediate plans or safewords or tests for when a sibling starts acting weird. But the story must go on
