That solo is just everything to me. I watch it over and over. I notice every detail. He turns his head and that lets me know I must get that level of mastery to play that rhythm.

Nice to see this comes from Quebec city. One year ago, at this time of the year I was in Quebec on vacation with my girlfriend. I celebrated my 29th birthday there. Greetings from Montevideo, Uruguay.

After getting into jamming on backing tracks a few years ago, I must say this is the one track I have jammed on the most. Thanks a lot for uploading, and killer solo at the start.

Wow.. I think dorian phrasing just TOTALLY clicked for me over the course of these 12 minutes. Thank you, perfect tones for figuring out what sounds great in passing, and getting comfortable moving around

Your presentation of backing tracks is excellent and the noodling you do in the beginning of each track is inspiring and has taught me new ideas (probably the intent)... anyways thanks for being here, you are much appreciated!

The secret Carlos Santana chord sequence. I love that Am D stuff. Evil Ways, Oye Como va and all that.
In my youth I played lots of that on Aramboul Lake in Goa as rhythmguitarist. Makes really nice far expendable endless session backgrounds.

YO. I’m a big metal guy so when the music drops and it’s just the drums it sounds cool as hell to shred over that.

I love the space to discover - a way in and a way out....then some repetitive triplets and maybe a big spray up and then down and then maybe sit on the groove with some octaves. Thx Quist.

Quist you always do those solos before the song starts, and I get it’s supposed to spark ideas and give the player a starting point, but in reality you’re just showing me I suck 😂😂

Over this track (A dorian keys), you can play
B minor blues scale (1, #2, 4, #4, 5, b7, 7, 1) as long as you'll resolve it to B phyrgian. Same as C lydian, you can play C major blues scale which is same as A minor blues scale.
D mixolydian, you can also play D major blues scale (1, 2, #2, 3, 5, #5, 6, 1), as long as you'll resolve it to the original scale and remember don't bending too much when playing that "imposition" blues scale.
E aeolian -> E minor blues.
F# locrian -> well except the locrian, you should stay with locrian, but you can add chromaticism from b7, 7, 1.
G ionian -> G major blues.

I learn this from Greg Howe, no wonder he can improvise that fast, he mostly just playing blues scale (only with imposition).
