The journalists of papers like the New York Times, and also a lot of TV presenters, are allowing themselves to be influenced by the capricious fashion for ageism, and it's a deeply irresponsible thing to be doing at this perilous time. There is too much at stake to be playing these childish games. This is a time for people to act like grown-ups.
