for my set up you have to press right after releasing the spindash before pressing left. this makes you "speed cap." in sonic 2 if you hold forward while rolling off of a ledge it slows you down, which is necessary here otherwise you fall through the floor. thanks so much for covering this abyssoft! a 30 year old game having so many discoveries in just the last 2 years is unheard of

"RAM Storage" might be the single worst speedrunning trick name, it's like calling your trick the "Button Push Method" or some equally redundant name

It's amazing how people can break games with such crazy inputs on their controllers, I find it so shocking and awesome. Meanwhile I struggle for >30 minutes to do the rabbit-door glitch in Mario 64... I love speedrunning!!

When I was 9 or 10, a sunday, I woke up at 6:00 and start playing Sonic 2. With some pause, mostly involving eating (breakfast, lunch, tea break), I was finally at flying Fortress at 18:00. With 83 lives and 9 continues. I finally beat the game after something like 10 hours of gameplay.
