Asset Management System and Boat Maintenance

Boat maintenance process is very good example of needed collaboration of different people from different teams – departments. Asset register is way how to make collaboration easier and more effective.

If you ask me, what is one of the most challenging maintenance then boats are definitely one of them.

My team was responsible for maintenance of 15 boats at Velaa Private Island Maldives. We were looking for system how to keep and share running information about each boat:

Mainly:
- Running hours logsheets
- Reporting issues by boats crew
- Scheduling and tracking inhouse and external preventive maintenance

We launched asset register system to the daily operation and thus we gained the tracking system of all needed information from boats crew as well as marine mechanic team.
We have got all this information on one place and linked to the particular assets – boats.
