FED 3 Rangefinder: Focus Indicator Fix

My recently purchased FED-3 camera came with a stuck focus indicator, resulting in not being able to tell when the lens was in focus. It turned out to be a simple fix, which I detail here.

My Fed 5B has trouble focusing, but I didn't notice anything wrong with the little focus indicator. I think I'll try your solution to see if the little "arm" is more stubborn than I think it is.

Wow - thank you for this video! Going to try this as soon as I get my hand on some lubricant. Do you have any issues with being able to line up at infinity? I can’t seem to like the rangefinder with far distant objects (caveat is I’m new to rangefinders so excuse any ignorance on my end :)

Hello. Thanks for this very educative video. May I ask a question? I own a fed 5 and every picture which i shoot is out of focus. Actually they are focused but a little bit backward from the thing that I try to focus. As I look through the viewfinder it seems focused to me. But when I get the pictures I see they are not. What can cause this? If you have any idea please share with me I will be grateful. Thank you. Sorry for my English by the way. I hope you would understand what l am trying to explain. :)

Some people try to use M39 reflex lenses, Zenit 3 for instance and as I understand it they cannot get the range finder to work, this is because the reflex lenses focus internally without the rear flange to come in contact with the rangefinder mechanism. So right thread but missing the flange for the rangefinder.

Great information. May I ask what kind of oil you used? Can wd40 be an alternative?
