I’m pretty sure the Annie thing was her ability to “kinda” copy other titans abilities when she eats a part of them so she most likely eat part of the beast so she could call them but couldn’t control them

I questioned it also. The writing, foreshadowing, plot twists, etc in AOT are absolutely brilliant, don’t get me wrong. But there are a few moments where it does feel like Isoyama stretched things a bit to make the narrative work. I think this is one of the best examples. Like you said, where would he have learned that this was something that could save him? And how would he have practiced it or known how to execute it?
