Lecture 2: Digital Image Processing - Basics

This lecture discusses the basics of digital image processing. It elaborates on pixel, gray levels in an image, storage requirement of an image, image resolution. It further presents discussion on low, intermediate and high level image processing with an example from the domain of fingerprint recognition. Lecture concludes by highlighting four important high-level tasks, viz. Segmentation, Recognition, Compression, and Motion analysis, performed under digital image processing.
