Constant energy gets you in a state of trance. These breakdowns just fuck it up. There’s really nothing like a well-mixed techno or house dj set. No breaks no tricks just a seamless mix and I’m in heaven.

i come from an era where MIXING, track selection, set building, and most importantly, reading the crowd, were the things that made you a legendary DJ. Oakenfold, Digweed, Carl Cox, etc. These guys were the pioneers of the rave scene and the architects of a real DJ set. I saw the Chainsmokers live a couple years ago and they stopped the tracks about every 45 seconds on average. No joke. just stopped the tracks, yelled into the mics and then tried some version of this style of build just for it to drop into another cookie cutter “hit single” and right when the crown started buying into the vibe… they’d stop it all over again.
