I actually agree in that many say you got your ankles broken when its just your shoes getting caught in the grip or slipping on a slippery court. But getting pwned is absolutely an ankle breaker.

Getting shifted is getting crossed. He crossed you over, but you stayed in a defensive position. When you "trip" responding to their move, that is getting your ankles broken.

It depends, ankle breaking isn't falling to the ground, it is forcing that.
For example: fake drive to the defenders left, pass him slightly and then go back and right, but cross and drive left. If they react quickly, they might hit their own kneels with their foot and they'll trip, THAT'S ankle breaking, but tripping on the floor is just tripping

i agree but i think of the opponent does like a snatch move and u fall forwards or backwards stubling it is a anklebreaker

I agree but i also feel like if its from a highly shifty move your momentum from you thinking they are going that way also might make u get caught on the court in that case it would in my opinion be an ankle breaker any normal non shifty move would not really

yes i realized this myself, but it can also be two takes, if i got shifted then i slipped i still got my ankles broken, but yeah i did indeed stopped shifting my weight and then i slipped and rolled my ankle lol recovery is going good enough that i can still lightly play

If you fall like tripping you don’t get your ankles broken if they didn’t do anything but if you made them go to the right and went left and they’re feet are caught on each other then you did break there ankles.
