I work in IT for an inpatient pharmacy and the number of things I have to configure - its amazing what they can do. From standard compounding, custom compounding, and chemo prep to knowing and working with Mr to program every single drug interaction, dose warning and checking by age and weight for every drug, TPN dosing and creation for 22 ga neonate to over a hundred, identifying drugs by sight, medication safety oversight.

Pharmacy is one of the backbones of a hospital and medicine in general, and SO under-appreciated

Just the other day I was told by someone who terminated pharmacy school that when I graduate I'll be nothing more than a saleswoman when I graduate.

Pharmacy is so much more than just selling and counting pills. We should be much more appreciated and have more to say regarding prescribing meds to patients

I work at a GI clinic where I see Hepatitis C patients, order labs, complete follow up visits, and write prescriptions for Mavyret/Epclusa. Pharmacists definitely do more than count pills :)
